Can Cannabis Cure Cancer?
cannabis cures cancerWith millions of dollars being poured into the funding of cancer research every year, it may seem strange that the answer is as simple as cannabis. It has been speculated since the mid 1970′s that cannabis may cure cancer. The active ingredient is THC (delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol), but this is not the only compound in cannabis that fights cancer. Not only do these cannabis compounds seem to fight tumors certain ones have been found to regulate diabetes and mental disorders such as schizophrenia.
Studies
There have been dozens of studies that show time and time again that an ingredient in cannabis called delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol inhibits the growth of cancerous cells. Even though all of these studies show that cannabis cures cancer we fail to see action from our governments and medical systems to provide us with a cure.
On April 17, 2007 Harvard released a study showing that THC reduces tumor growth in common lung cancer to half and it also reduces the ability of the cancer to spread. The researchers claimed that this was the first experiment to show that THC activates naturally produced receptors to fight lung cancer.
Spain, France, and Italy created a team of scientists in 2008 to study the effects of THC on cancer. The study showed that THC could actually cure brain cancer by “inducing human giloma cell death through stimulation of autophagy.” The conclusion of the study was that THC could eliminate multiple types of cancers of different parts of the body.
Another study in 1996 suggested that CBD (cannabinoids, another chemical found in cannabis) may have “a protective effect against the development of certain types of tumors.” According to another study in 2006 delta-9-thc, delta-8-thc, and cannabinol were shown to reduce the growth of lung cancer.
These are just a handful of studies that prove cannabis cures cancer. Not only does delta-9-thc fight cancer but other components of cannabis such as delta-8-thc and cannabinal do as well.
Rick Simpson: The Miracle Oil
The legality of cannabis has posed a serious problem to its development as a cure for cancer. Rick Simpson, a man from Nova Scotia knows this all too well. Rick is well known for his cannabis oil that cures cancer along with many other diseases. He created the oil as an attempt to treat a head injury of his. He was later diagnosed with skin cancer and by applying the cannabis oil to his skin he was cured within 3 days.
At first Rick treated dozens of cancer patients, some even diagnosed with terminal cancer. The cannabis oil worked so well that many people in his community began to rally behind him.
